1.- Evitar fumar frente a menores de edad para evitar contradicciones y enfrentamientos al aconsejarlos acerca de la importancia de que no adquieran el hábito.
2.- Preguntar si se permite fumar, aunque esté en un área destinada para ello.
3.- Respetar los lugares en los que se prohiba fumar, ya sea por disposición gubernamental o por seguridad (gasolineras, etc.)
4.- Asegurarse de que la colilla y los cerillos queden bien apagados para evitar incendios.
5.- Depositar el empaque vacío, las colillas y la ceniza del cigarro en la basura.
6.-Evitar caminar con el cigarro encendido en sitios con gran afluencia de gente para evitar accidentes.
7.- No enviar a menores a comprar cigarros.
8.- No dejar cajetillas al alcance de menores.
9.- Respetar a las personas que no fuman. No insistir para que adquieran el hábito.
